Question: My vegan friends would you support this?
( Back )
Answer #1:
No. It's still leather. Whether it is old or new, an animal had to die for it. Vegans do not use anything from an animal, no matter if its recycled or new.
Answer #2:
I think I would support this company.
It's only recycled leather, so animals are not being killed for the demand. The discarded leather will be used again, so it is not wasted.
I'm still not sure if I would be comfortable wearing it though. It still seems weird.
I would for sure use it for gifts though.
Answer #3:
Dead cows are Dead cows are Dead cows. 'recycled' dead cows doesn't make a difference in the fact that you are wearing a pelt of death that was supposed to keep the COW warm, not you.
Answer #4:
Nope, it's still leather, either way. It is uneeded really. Why do people even need leather to begin with? Other materials work just as well, and personally I have always thought leather looked tacky myself. But tha's probably just me.
Answer #5:
well. Im not vegetarian... but I'd like to be. And if I was vegetarian, i'd say no leather at all.
Answer #6:
I think if more people started buying recycled leather instead of new leather it would be better.
but then again it supports the idea that animals are made for our purpose and it's okay to use cows for their meat, milk and leather. because hey, even vegans do it!
Answer #7:
It depends what you mean by support. I wouldn't support them in the sense of sponsoring them or donating to them or buying any of their merchandise. But if I had a friend who wanted a leather jacket or something, I'd definitely point him in their direction.
Answer #8:
Sмιℓєу [♥), I have kind of a motto. "The only thing worse than buying animal products, is wasting animal products."
I would definitely support the company you mentioned, as they are ensuring no cattle is killed for the product they make (if, indeed, they don't use other animal by-products for stitching, tags, etc.), and get the most use out of the products animals died to provide.
Whenever someone asks me if he/she should throw away or donate an old leather product, I always recommend donating it. For the person who picks it up, it may very well mean one less animal-derived product is purchased. If he/she throws it away, that animal died for nothing. ...For trash. :-(
